Assalam u alaikum wr wb,
O you who have believed, take not those who have taken your religion in ridicule and amusement among the ones who were given the Scripture before you nor the disbelievers as allies. And fear Allah, if you should [truly] be believers.
Reflections: If ayah is seen in now a days perspective , it gives off a fair amount of warning to the believers even, We are commanded to not to befriend such people who ridicule our religion. Why. This is strange because then how Islam is balanced? How can we not be well wishers of our own brothers and sisters? Humanity No?
The thing is,
A man is known by the company he keeps.
Every person is highly judged by one’s friend because they are the ones who a person really likes and goes to when they need help. How then the one who doesn’t really comprehend the real essence of the truth can help us? Instead they can make us go astray. It makes sense to me now.
& If a person even after knowing and actually acknowledging religion can be as dumb as to mock it , then how can the one who loves the same religion can stand that? How can one stand to befriend them and let them talk openly about a matter which is daringly serious and comprehensive in its text.
