A Morning Reflection…

Assalam u alaikum wr wb,

Today, I was reciting surah Zukhruf in the morning and I came across some beautiful ayahs. By contemplating on these ayahs , I pondered over how these ayahs are an answer to the questions I have. Also the meaning and purpose they give to the reader. Following are the ayahs:

And they said, “Why was this Qur’an not sent down upon a great man from [one of] the two cities?”

Do they distribute the mercy of your Lord? It is We who have apportioned among them their livelihood in the life of this world and have raised some of them above others in degrees [of rank] that they may make use of one another for service. But the mercy of your Lord is better than whatever they accumulate.

43:31,32

Allah says on wards,

And if it were not that the people would become one community [of disbelievers], We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Most Merciful – for their houses – ceilings and stairways of silver upon which to mount.

And for their houses – doors and couches [of silver] upon which to recline

And gold ornament. But all that is not but the enjoyment of worldly life. And the Hereafter with your Lord is for the righteous.

And whoever is blinded from remembrance of the Most Merciful – We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion.

43:33,34,35,36

While reflecting on them, I observed that Allah made us all different on purpose for us to think and to choose. Was it even a tad bit difficult for Him to make us all in one community? Indeed Not.

He mentioned it again in Surah Shura in ayah number 8 that,

And if Allah willed, He could have made them [of] one religion, but He admits whom He wills into His mercy. And the wrongdoers have not any protector or helper.

42:8

Point to ponder over here is that Allah could have made us all into one religion but He didn’t do it. Instead He sent revelation and gave simple commandments for us to follow which are beneficial for us in this life and in the next. We somehow experience that as well because for the good we do, we get appreciated on it. When we remain grateful and have patience , we get our rewards on the times and places destined for us. We do see the promises of Allah being turn out true in many occasions in life. Why is it that it is difficult for us to turn to Allah? Real Question is why am I not the chosen one? Can I be the chosen one? Answer is again here..

He has ordained for you of religion what He enjoined upon Noah and that which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus – to establish the religion and not be divided therein. Difficult for those who associate others with Allah is that to which you invite them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back [to Him].

42:13

He says,Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back [to Him].”

Turning back to Allah is the right way of establishing a connection with Allah. Some may say, oh well I have never gone away to turn back again. Here is where all the mystery lies, maybe one might not have even started the journey because turning to Allah five times a day will then become a part of individuals lives. Turning back means to recognize and acknowledge that I am unique and blessed when I say, “Allah is one and I worship only Him.”  All praise is for Allah.

May Allah make us steadfast in our religion and May He chooses us for Himself by giving us the ability to turn back to Him . Ameen.
